Crock Pot Steel-Cut Oatmeal

Steel cut oatmeal is one of the best foods you can consume. It's much healthier than the instant pre-package oatmeal.


- 1-cup steel cut oats  

    (Do not substitute old-fashioned or quick-cooking oats)

- 4½ cups water

- ½ teaspoon salt

- 1 to 2 tablespoon butter (optional)


Spray crockpot with Pam nonstick spray. Place all ingredients in a 2-quart slow cooker (crockpot). Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours. Stir occasionally (0ptional). Serve when ready or let cool and place in refrigerator for later use. For later use, remove from refrigerator and reheat for 60-90 seconds before serving.

Serve With...

- Milk to taste

- Sugar to taste

- Cinnamon to taste

- Add walnuts (optional)

- Add fruit of choice (optional)
