"Lord, if it is you," Peter replied, "tell me to come to you on the water." "Come," the Lord said. Then Peter walked on the water and came toward Jesus. -Matt. 14:28-29

Of all the disciples in the boat that night, Peter was the only one to step out in faith and walk on water. It is the only documented case in history where a person walked on water, other than Jesus. Only after Peter responded to Jesus' Word, "COME" was he able to step out with complete trust and answer the Lord's call. Has God called you to "come" out of the boat? Is there a dream He has placed in your heart, a dream to touch lives and help others, a desire to fulfill your life's calling?

Sadly, most people never realize their biggest dreams because they never step out of the boat in faith. Their biggest fear is that they will sink once they step out. Peter stepped out in faith and walked on water until he took his eyes off Jesus and sank amidst the surrounding storm. He took his focus off His Source and got distracted by the storm around him.

Are you facing a storm that is preventing you from getting out of the boat? Any worthwhile pursuit takes a step of faith. And yes, there will be storms all around you and most likely you will sink at some point. But fear not, because, as in Peter's case, your Heavenly Father will always be there to pick you up when you trust in Him.

Wellness Application: Step out of the boat in faith and keep your focus on the Truth and Word, which is Jesus Christ. Your faith and focus will enable you to walk on water and fulfill your grandest dreams.
