GUIDELINES FOR PRAYER

Prayer is simply communicating with God, which involves both listening and talking to Him. Prayer is a relationship, where we humbly communicate, worship, and sincerely seek intimacy with God, knowing that He hears us, loves us and responds to us. Effective prayer encompasses praise, adoration, confession, supplication, intercession and more. Based on God’s Word, here are some guidelines to help you with your prayer life:

  1. Always pray and never give up (Luke 18:1).
  2. Give thanks in prayer in all circumstances (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
  3. Pray when you face trouble (Psalm 50:15).
  4. Pray constantly (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
  5. Pray about everything and in every situation (Philippians 4:6).
  6. Pray at all times in the Spirit (Ephesians. 6:18).
  7. Pray when you are suffering (James 5:13).
  8. Pray for your enemies (Matthew 5:44).
  9. Pray for those who harm you (Luke 6:28).
  10. Pray for those who persecute you (Matthew 5:44).
  11. Pray for people who sin (1 John 5:16).
  12. Pray for your friends (Job 42:8-9).
  13. Pray for your leaders (1 Timothy 2:1-3).
  14. Pray for others to receive the Holy Spirit (Acts 8:15).
  15. Pray for laborers to be sent into the harvest fields (Luke 10:2).
  16. Pray for the saints (Ephesians. 1:16; Philippians 1:3-4; 2 Timothy 1:3).
  17. Pray to stand up against all the strategies and the deceits of the devil (Ephesians 6:11,18)
